What we do

The Studio is a place where people with disabilities can come and create artworks of all kinds with the support of practicing artist Jenny Edbrooke and her fantastic team of volunteers.

We provide the materials and tutoring for artists in their chosen mediums such as: Painting (oils, water colours, acrylics), Drawing (charcoal, pencil, pastels), ceramics, collage, decoupage, model making, print making, woodcraft and textiles. As appropriate, Jenny supports artists with their professional development and provides  exciting opportunities to exhibit and sell their work.

Most importantly Jenny provides limitless hot drinks, refreshments, laughter and inspiration whenever necessary.

We enjoy a rich selection of music whilst we work from classical to disco pop.. depending on the mood of the artist.

Where it happens

In our light and spacious studio at Rye Creative Centre we have independent working spaces for each artist to suit their needs.

The Studio opens onto our garden area and raised bed allotments in which we grow and plant an exciting array of horticultural treats throughout the year. The garden space provides us with seasonal inspiration for our artwork and studies, and also is a beautiful area to take tea breaks overlooking the fields and marsh
